Cpu cooler OCZ Vendetta 2
Fans installed 120mm- 2 front,1 side,1 rear./200mm-top fan
Cpu fan 120mm
Windows 7 ultimate Sp1 All Software is totally updated.

My comp seems to work fine all day,Idle temps are Gpu 38c and Cpu 30c.I do my normal
things on the comp during the day and usually play a Game or two at night Examples are Crysis 2,f1 2010,BF3.
My question is when i shut down at night after gaming and boot my comp the next morning. What would cause it
to do the following:Turn on but i get no video, looks like the HD light does not light up either.Once i open the tower
and fiddle around moving the main components
Tthe ram.video card and cpu cooler it works like a charm again.I have tried to narrow down the prob but really
can't tell if its a short, the ram or something else or is my system to much for the Psu.
Does anyone have any info.Thanks

does it do this on every reeboot or only froma "cold boot" meaning the cpu has had time to complete cool down and is room temp. Sometimes teh chips or boards can behave funny after a cold boot. A solid way to check this is next morning turn it on let it run for 10 sec, then reboot and see if ti boots. Alternativly it could be a component isnt securly in place and is shifting out of place every night. Ensure your gpu is snug in place and cannot be moved. As well teh ram could be an issue just make sure its clipped into place

The problem only happens on a cold boot.It usually boots then gets to windows. After a few seconds in windows it shuts down and i have the above probs that i mentioned.Once i fiddle with the cpu cooler ,ram and gpu it boots fine.I think i got to do some experimenting.

The pc seems to stay on but their is no video. So i have to shut it down then it.won't start iup again. The system come on but no Video.I am going to try moving one component at a time when it does it again. So far it happens only after i shut it down at night after Gaming for a couple of hours.

I tried another test,.I did not Game and had my Comp on for hours then shut down. About 30 minutes later i booted up,it worked fine. This problem only seems to happen after i am Gaming for a couple of hours and then shut down for the night.Maybe the Gpu vibrates loose in the slot. The Gpu fan is controlled by a profile i made in Speedfan and runs at 100 % when reaching temps of 50c or more.Something gets loose.I also wander if its when the Cpu heats up during gaming and then i shut down for the night the thermal paste is disturbed causing a short.,anyway more testing i Guess.

yea all you can do is test. if its onyl happening after gaming i would assume its the video card. You can always just stress test your card and check it out that way.

Well to me their was nothing else to do but tear this build apart and do it over. Now after the rebuild everything is working fine.I never found the actual problem after checking and remounting Ram,Gpu and Cpu.I did notice the thermal compound on the Cpu was insufficient and could for been the cause of my problem.Anyway after all tests and stress tests the PC is running smooth.
