Help me to decide Dell u2711 or Asus MS228H 22".

Which one to get? I'm planning to use 3 of these screens for surround gaming.

MY specs are as follows:-

Core i7 3770k
Asus Maximus V Extreme or EVGA z77 FTW or Asrock z77 extreme9
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB(4x4GB) [Two sets]
Xigmatec Elysium [HEAVILY MODDED BY OVERBOOST]
3x GTX 670s[4GB] (Might or might not add the 4th GTX 670 because it will cause the over-all bandwith of the cards to lower down to 8x)
XSPC Rasa Water cooling kit(For CPU mainly. Later may buy water blocks and cool the gtx 670s.)
3x Asus MS226H
2 x 2 TB WD Caviar Green
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 External USB(Because I need to reserve the 4th slot for a possible upgrade of a card.)
Logitech G19[Already have it.]
Cyborg CAT 7 Gaming house[Didn't want CAT 9 because of the bad experience with wireless mice.]
Case fans will probably be added later.[No plans for them now. But why not?]
Corsair SSD 240 GB[Model will be specified later on]
Corsair AX1200W[ARRIVED]

PLEASE HALP!

Both are poor displays. The Dell is extremely grainy due to the matte coating, is wide gamut (over saturated and inaccurate colours for games and movies), has a little over 1 frame of input lag and poor contrast. The MS228h is a budget display meant internet and basic pc use.

The Auria and Dell have a little over 1 frame of input lag, so, since you will primarily be gaming the Yamakasi, Achieva, PC BANK and CrossOver models are better.

I live in pakistan limiting me to brands like Asus, Dell, HP, Samsung, viewsonic, Acer, AOC.

OP if you don't mind AG coating, take a look at HP zr2740. No OSD/scaler but less input lag than U2711.

Even suggesting the Catleap or any Korean equivilant is better than the U2711 is slander. It's simply untrue.

The U2711 is one of the most colour accurate monitors on the market, and has a hugely high quality IPS Panel. As for the "lag", I play semi-pro COD4 and I've never had any issues. The input lag isn't even noticeable, even if you look for it. The very slight lag is a very fair trade for the resolution and a quality panel. Movies look stunning, as do pictures (I do a lot of photo editing), and do games, the colours are nothing less than perfect.

I've personally reccomended the U2711 to two other OCN staff members, who have both purchased them and agreed it's the best PC purchase they've ever made. I paid £600 for mine, and it was £600 well spent. I even had two at one point.

Also, saying that the Anti-Glare is bad isn't really true, it's totally a personal opinion. I love the AG coating and it doesn't make the screen grainy at all. It's totally personal preference.

If you have the money, the U2711 is a truly astonishing monitor.

To claim your own opinion is fact and then to proceed and base that on preference and personal observation. Your whole post is based on "I have one, I like it, I don't have problems with it." Does this make it the best thing out there? Absolutely not.

The u2711 is not a bad monitor (in my opinion) but it has its downsides. Some of these happen to not exist on (some of) the korean models. If a certain person happens to value the lack of a heavy coating and input lag (and/or possibly increased contrast) over the wider gamut (which shouldn't be a concern for most people) and OSD features and proper support, so be it. They're not receiving a clearly inferior product like your post would suggest.

U2711 has like a Billion inputs, Korean Monitors got only 1 or 2. Its like having a car with 1 door. Both will work but the Dell will be much better. Also as far as input lag its mostly for those people that cant even stand 60Hz and are using 120hz now, most people that have been using PC way before LCD monitors.

Some of the korean models have more inputs than the single DVI some have. Not all are barebones models. Some are filled with inputs and have scalers and OSD and all that goodness. There's plenty of choices around, they can't all be considered as one and the same. That's why my previous post included a lot of "some of".

And no, not everyone who prefers their displays input lag free wants 120hz over what the displays in question provide. One can desire a high resolution monitor and still dislike input lag enough for it to affect his choice (as it does for me certainly), not wanting to get a 120hz monitor because of the obvious downsides of such a choice. You expect everyone that dislikes input lag to go for the fastest monitor around at the expense of everything else, just because they dislike input lag to the point of not wanting a display riddled with input lag when there are other choices available that are just as good?

I've been using a Viewsonic 22" before this which is at 60hz. I guess I won't have any problems with it then. Anyways, I have negotiated a deal with a friend, DELL U2711. But the thing is that it will be in used condition. It will not be sealed and he will give me checking warranty. What if I check it at his place and after that when I return home, can it automatically get any dead pixels or something?
