Closed loop water coolers perform on par with air coolers around their price. Proper air coolers are still high end and will beat or perform similar to an h100, and probably quieter too. I can't stand my h100 on anything less then the quietest setting. A full custom loop will out perform anything else, but at the expense of a bit more attention to it regularly.
