I refuse to do this because it adds about 10 mins to my TPF no matter how I set it up and trust me I have tried many ways, always with the same result.

You don't have to install HFM on the rig that's folding.

Tried it with sharing the folder over my network using both wireless and wired networks and running HFM off my sig rig. Exact same result. Like I said, tried it many ways.

Hmm, that just seems odd, I've never had sharing a folder effect folding by adding on 10 minutes to TPF.  If you need some help giving it another go, I can try to help, another set of eyes might be able to catch something you missed.

Anyone else have robbo's issue?

Maybe it was updating too often. I would be satisfied with it updating every 24 hours just so teams and editors can see project's people are folding. I see way too much chasing people down trying to figure out if they are folding or not. It's a growing problem that I think team captains, like yourself, would support enforcing. However, 10 minutes is a ton of time on TPF!

Yea I don't want to be forced to use HFM/dropbox. I do use HFM for my personal use and briefly set up dropbox but I decided I don't like constantly broadcasting what my machine is doing. If people want to know what WU I'm folding or how often I'm playing games or doing other things with my machine then they can just ask me and depending on who it is asking I'll answer or not. I do admit that there is a small gain to be had by making everyone use HFM but the real question in my mind is is the TC prepared/willing to lose anyone over forcing HFM. I don't think the TC can afford to lose anyone over something like forcing HFM.

I also think that the newest TC stat site really removes the need for this with it's points shown by update so that you can see what somebody is doing every 3 hours.

juano, you put up points everyday. It's mainly useful when people are not putting up points, or when we're trying to find out if there are wu shortages and such (hugeadv). I don't care about people playing games. The minimum requirement is 20/7. Even if people play games they usually average above or slightly below the minimum requirement.

How about this idea. All team members give the HFM links to me, and I house them in the private folding staff section? Putting a link in your sig would be optional.

I do like the idea of having a page full of everyone's hfm stats but I don't see any need to make it mandatory. If the TC was about winning prizes or what not then yes I would say make it mandatory, but it's not. To me the TC is all about getting more folding done, having fun, pushing your hardware until it breaks, and of course bragging rights. thumb.gif

Keep in mind that putting a link to HFM stats in your signature is against ToS as it is, so we would need to get a manager's thumbs up first.

TC is competitive by nature so being able to track WU shortages as BWG said as well as actually seeing if someone is folding could help teams know when a member is folding less than 20 hours a day.

Now there are two ways to go about HFM monitoring.

1) Set up a HFM page with just the TC gear on it

2) Set up HFM as usual with all your folding gear.

The second option would be preferred as it would give us another source of PPD numbers for various hardware and WU's.  This would make it easier to adjust categories if needed.
