Nope, it doesn't show up in my router's DHCP table. Here's an SS of the DHCP page (note, MicroATX-PC is the box with the VM, the two blank listings are my TouchPad and Veer):

If you are a folder who will quit if HFM is made mandatory I want you to PM me.

Your gut has too many damn rules. What you're hoping to accomplish would require up to the minute refreshes of HFM and somebody watching them constantly for any sort of foul play. Then every time somebody decides to play a game near the end of the month they get a PM asking for an explanation or be faced with a yellow card for WU priming. If you have reasons to believe that somebody is cheating via selectively deleting WUs then after watching their stats on the TC page and seeing that they only get the good WUs for however long seems suspicious to you then ask them to submit to this mandatory HFM probation crap. Do it for those you think are cheating rather than giving us all full cavity searches.

I fail to see the problem that we currently have that requires us to all make these sort of sacrifices, especially when there are so many opposed to it.

HFM shares the folding log, and that would be a requirement if this actually is enforced. I only need 1 refresh every 24 hours. I have made 0 new rules, so how is that too many? headscratch.gif

I see 38 yes votes and 26 no votes. I also see low points that appear to be less than 20/7 folding for about 26 members, so I believe that covers the no votes tongue.gif

What, then, is the point of HFM? In a 24 hour period I could easily have deleted 10 units, gotten an 04, edited the log to show that previous WUs were folded, and baked a cake!

Oh yes, you're right there. I was thinking that it would have to be monitored manually but yea the log would show that.

The "your gut has too many damn rules" was in response to "I'm going to make..." and "my gut feeling is a rule should be made against it." so while you may not have officially made any new rules you have unofficially made one which I can agree with (deleting WUs), said you think you should make another which I don't disagree with in itself but just don't see the problem that requires it, and the writing on the wall is that this mandatory HFM is going through despite 40% of the votes being against it.

After my mistake forgetting the log, my argument against this is everything I said a week ago against the original mandatory HFM stuff, and then against this new rule this still is valid "Then every time somebody decides to play a game near the end of the month they get a PM asking for an explanation or be faced with a yellow card for WU priming."

And on the whole I still fail to see the problem that we currently have that requires us to all make these sacrifices, when there are so many opposed to it. Have we had a problem with people cheating that we haven't been able to handle without mandatory HFM? What real motivation do people have to cheat in the TC to the extent that we need to constantly be watching each other? All this mandatory this and being watched and probation talk does not make the TC seem like it has a whole lot of upsides.

If you're trying to make the TC more strict because you're considering prizes for the TC then I personally think that any prizes or money should be made available to either all of OCN folders in general (as in the monthly tiered cash prizes that we're behind on) or new folders specifically rather than us TCers (as in the first time folder prizes in FaTs that we didn't do this last month). If that is the case then I think you'd want another vote that you clearly lay out what the specific pros and cons of adding prizes would be, including the details of these prizes. For example for myself I would rather keep the TC more fun, open, and not be watched like I stole something all the time instead of a $5 prize at the end of the month, and if it were $50 then I'd say that would be better used elsewhere for OCN folding.

I'm sure you're 'joking' but this is ridiculous because it's pretty clear that you've already decided that we all need full cavity searches and anyone who thinks otherwise only does so because they have something to hide, further signifying the need for full cavity searches.

I'm all for it deleting WUs for the purpose of PPD being prohibited - it's probably against stanford's ToS, and it hurts the project as a whole - TC is not here to do either of those things.

insofar as keeping things honest - couldn't there be a thing in the TC rules where if asked you must provide the log file? perhaps audit the division winners - or just make it clear that spot checking is a possibility?

Doesn't pausing to prime cost you big on points? it must kill average TPF.
