Folding with X1950XTX

Anyone here using the X1950XTX for folding??

If so, which drivers are you using 6.5 or 6.10?? According to Stanford these are the only ones to use and I'm having a little trouble getting things to settle down. I seem to be getting a lot of EUE's (early Workunit endings)...
I've also tried looking at the Stanford site, but no help there either, as of yet. I realize this gpu folding is still in "Beta" mode, but...

My rig is:

ASUS A8N-Sli Deluxe, AMD 64 3500 Venice, Seagate 250Gb 8 mb SATA, Crucial DDR. Nothing else! No games, web surfing, etc... Just Windows XP and Folding at Home... Everything is at stock speeds for now. Just trying to get the system stable...

Any info appreciated, :-)

I seem to remember that people found they couldn't run CPU F@H and GPU F@H simultaneously...so that could be it. You'd have to wait for confirmation fromsome of the other people who've tried using the beta client though. I stayed away from it myself, I'm hoping they'll get a stable version out :\\

Hi mezeppa,

You're absolutlely right! You can not run both the cpu and gpu client. I was trying to run only the gpu client, and although it's in beta they have come out with a new version (v7) that may have solved several bugs.

Those bugs were not recording after completing 85% and re-starting after pausing the WU or stopping it. I'm trying that version now. We'll see how it goes.
It also seems that the gpu runs hot and certain settings must be manually entered with regard to 3D function, etc... I was hoping someone would have first hand info on what works for them...

I'm currently using the 6.10 Catalyst drivers straight from ATI's web site that were specifically set up for gpu folding. However, they (ATI) are slow to respond on questions and I realize that this project might not be their highest priority right now. So I was looking for info from folks here on what does work and how they have their rigs setup.

The forum on Stanford's site has also been a good source of info that I read for updates and best setup situations. Just looking for more info from folks here at overclock.net...

Thanks for the reply, :-)

Ah, I wasn't aware that an updated client had been released. I think I may have to try it out.
