EVGA 670 FTW with 450W PSU (SG06)? - Page 3

I have a 3570K at 4.5ghz and my Asus GTX 670 at 1100mhz and I have yet to see my PSU pull more then 300w from the wall. This is with 1x SSD and 2x HDDs. The psu in the SG-05 is more then enough for a 3570k and gtx 670 even heavily OC'd.

Temps are also not an issue My CPU does not go over 72c while stress testing and the GPU won't go over 70c even while running Kombustor.

I have been running an i5 750 quad core overclocked to 3.6GHz + an HD 5870 on the SG05B stock 300W PSU for almost three years thumb.gif

You gonna post some picture for us?

edit - oops...sorry for the necro redface.gif

Hi everyone, I know this is a late response to this post but I had a question about this build. I was planning on using the silverstone sg06 with the 300w power supply. I will be installing an i5-2500k, ASUS mobo, sapphire 7870, 8gb ram, WD caviar black 750gb 7,500rpm and and slim DVD. Is the 300w enough to power this or should I jump up to the silverstone that comes with the 450w psu?

Thanks for any help

Heck no! 450 Watts should be sufficient, however, how much you plan on OC's plays a role too.

Never spend $800 on components, then cheap out on the PSU. Get a PSU that can stay with you for 10 years. Everything else will be obsolete by then

Awesome thanks for the help! I don't plan on over clocking the CPU or gpu anytime in the near future. So I guess I'll just got for the one with the 450w incase I upgrade in the future.
