H100 vs. Rasa RS240 temps

Thread Starter
Does anyone own or have owned both of these? I'm looking into a new cooler STRICTLY for CPU cooling needs. It will be cooling a 2500K @ 4.5-4.8. I do not care that the corsair is a CLC I just want to know which will cool better with a push pull setup and if the RS240 is better. Is it by a large margin, or is it a small differance? ie. 1-3 degrees.

Here's the reason why for the curious people. I'm in the US Navy and stationed in Japan, there are stores here that sell the H100. But the only way to get a RASA kit is to order it, which is $130 PLUS the $32 that they charge to send it overe here. So I can get a RASA for about $162 and wait possibly 3weeks for it. Or I can buy a H100 for about $110.

I dont mind paying the extra money and the wait time if the RASA is worth it. But if not I'll just buy the corsair. Thanks!

The RASA kit should perform better then the Corsair (not sure though). The rad is thicker and the block is better. Even though you must maintain it, you have the option to add more radiators and blocks down the road if you change your mind. In you situation however, it might be best to go H100, as it costs significantly less. Theres an equal tradeoff.

get the h100

you won't be disappointed

cools just fine and it's a breeze to setup

General consensus says they're pretty evenly matched, the Rasa is definitely better (tho slightly) but you do have upgrade options to add another rad.
H100 wouldn't be a bad buy by any means either however.

first off i would like to thank you for your service.

now, before you buy any of these coolers you need to find out how they will fit in your case. i believe the h100 and the rs 240 rads are about the same lenght (2 x 120mm fans length). you can ask here . . .

http://www.overclock.net/t/612436/official-corsair-hydro-series-club

and here . . .

http://www.overclock.net/t/882408/official-xspc-rasa-750-rs-rx120-240-360-kit-club

i recommend the h100 in your case.

I say the h100 will be easier to maintain but the RASA will give you some more customization. I'm sure the cooling is better as well.

If you don't mind the building (which is a plus to me ;-) ) the RASA is the way to go. Can always add a GPU block and more rads later thumb.gif

speaking from personal experience as i own 2 H100s, in push/pull using the right fans the H100 is beast.......however, the RASA240 is a better kit because of a thicker radiator, better pump, and higher flow tubes.......i set one up a month back for a customer........very good kit and well worth the extra over the H100.......however, H100 is a closed kit, zero maintance, and extremely easy to deal with.......if you know what you're doing, don't mind the hassle of cleaning it, and can live with having to replace hardware because of a leak due to malfuction and/or user error, then grab the RASA.......if not, then H100 is the one for you

Your very welcome.

It seems that the H100 is better suited for me as of right now, as much as I love PC building, i'm pretty tired of opening my case daily. I really just want to enjoy my computer for awhile. I love the look of custom loops, but I dont think im up to maintaining one right now. So since the temp differance is pretty negligible, the H100 in p/p it is. thumb.gif Thanks everyone!

The H100 beats out the high end air coolers by a few degrees. Maintenance free (install and forget practically). You may not be happy with the fans it comes with since they are noisy though. Ig you are not worried about pricing, you could replace the 2 stock fans with 4 GT-AP15's in push pull. That set up should bring you within the RS capabilities if not outright match it's performance. Not sure if you could beat out the RS though. If you move the computer around you can forget about the h100 since it wont leak on you.

The RS will require some work and maintenance over time. Price-wise will be more expensive. You will most likely want to replace the fans that kit comes with as well so once agian the AP15's come into play adding to the kits cost. If you move the computer around, you will need to drain the whole system for transport and such.

These are my big issues right now, I dont think I want to deal with RMA issues/replacing hardware should I have a leak. If you think a RMA is bad from the states. Imagine one from Japan!
