So I'm building a new puter for the boss. Got a GENE Z Z68 mobo, and a Caviar Black 2tb HDD. I can see it in bios no problem, I'm trying to install Windows 7 64 Ultimate from a USB. So boot with the USB and when I get to the selection of drives to install too, there's no WD Caviar Black... actually there's nothing there.

I've tried RAID, IDE and AHCI. I've changed around the boot sequence, disconnected the DVD drive to no avail.

Help?

Brand spanking new... alright I'll try fail safe. But bios sees the drive with details. Windows 7 64 Ultimate on installation doesn't. That's what's wierd, the HDD doesn't appear as a drive I can install too...

Here's what it says.

A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a friver Floppy disk, cd, dvd or usb flash drive, please insert it now.

Note: If the windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drivem you can safely remove it for this next step.

As if I need a driver for the HDD to be recognized... Since when do you need a driver for a SATA 6.0Gb drive?

Works perfect in the laptop I'm writting from... Worked on my puter when I first put the ISO to the USB drive. So pretty sure the USB drive is okay.

Ni e I've had that same error recently from installing from flash drive I switched usb ports and cleaned the drive through disk part b4 u try to install
