I wonder who will be able to do a review on this now that Martin has officially retired. frown.gif

Martin's retirement is gonna leave a very big hole and this shows it. Normally, there would be a review of this block already.

Oh well, I ordered one anyway based on BP's rep and the fact that the base appears flat and large enough for the LGA2011. We'll see how it goes. It will be paired with a MCP35X2 so it's going to flow massively either way. thumb.gif

I completely agree. Hopefully someone will be willing to step up and take over. Even Skinnee Labs looks like it hasn't been updated in quite a long while. redface.gif

With that said, I'm definitely interested in this block, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it. thumb.gif

Ok, so I haven't been using this block long but here's my thoughts on it...

1. The mounting mechanism is *almost* perfect. First a picture:

330

Above you can see that the spring on this stud has dropped or angled into the opening in the block mount plate. One more picture:

348

Now as you can see above, the stud comes thru the knurled nut and according to the manual when the nut opening reaches the stud height that is the proper pressure. So, they should have included washers to prevent the spring from dropping slightly into the mount plate openings. I'm going to use some washers I've got lying around and see if it works better. I'll just have to keep in mind that proper pressure is when the nut top is as close to the stud height as the widht of whatever washer I'm using.

Onto general thoughts, the block appears to be very well made and the size of it is just massive. Temps are at or below where my Apogee HD was. There appears to be alot of flow, although I'm not qualified to judge about flow rates and whatnot.

Here's a few more shots just for fun...
