The resolution you play at will determine the best card for the job here. If you game above 1080p, seek out high-end SLI or CrossFire to get the most from this game. If you play at 1080p, you will get a maximized experience with a single GTX 680 or HD 7970 GHz Edition. If you can't afford those, and you must go midrange, the GTX 660 Ti offers the best value in this game for the cost right now.

PATCHES

Patch 1.1 and Data Patch
Quote:
Hi all,

We are rolling out two new patches over the next few days, Patch 1.1 and Data Patch B.

Patch 1.1 will be a physical update requiring you to download it when prompted from Origin/XBL/PSN and contains numerous bug fixes and updates:

Fix for users getting stuck in the Pinger
Fix for Flashbang/Smoke grenade reactions not displaying in Kill Cam
Fix for crosshair becoming invisible after certain actions
Fixes for squads joining and disconnecting from servers
Fix for players being unable to fire or reload occasionally
Fix for users occasionally being able to hear VTOL damage siren constantly
Weapons retrieved from the ground now have the correct attachments
Fix for players getting stuck if ripping HMG off VTOL during destruction
Fix for being unable to detonate C4 after host migration on consoles
Fix for game not ending correctly if last opponent triggers a host migration
Fix for issue where sometimes rip and throw weapons would not deal damage in smoke grenades
Fix for relay in CTR becoming stuck if picking up relay during shotgun reload
Fix for icons disappearing occasionally in CTR
Fix for players occasionally spawning with wrong loadout in Assault (PC Only)
Last Man Standing no longer displayed in Hunter for players that have just died
Fixed issue with teams during host migration in Hunter/Assault
Significant optimisation to Medium detail settings (PC Only)
Particle optimisation (PC Only)

Data Patch B is a behind the scenes update and is automatically downloaded when entering Multiplayer. Patch B contains the following tweaks:

Melee whilst sliding damage reduced to match patch A's melee damage
Typhoon mid range damage reduction
Bow sensitivity reduced to match Assault Scope values on PS3/X360 as they have similar zoom values. PC remains as before
SCAR+Laser long distance effectiveness reduced.
Threat Awareness module levelling targets reduced to 3/10 enemy C4's destroyed
Potential fix for "Incoming!" Skill Assessment not levelling up correctly
Fix for Social Challenge skill assessments not being tracked correctly

If you see something like this at the bottom left of your main multiplayer screen, then you have the patch.

If you can not see it and this post says the patch is live, chances are your copy of the game didn't manage to download and verify it in time. Simply return to the Single Player menu and click back into Multi Player or restart the game, entering MP will usually resolve the issue as it will have been downloaded already but not verified.

If you do not have the patch you will be unable to play against players who do, so you may have less matches available to your (or no official dedicated servers on PC). This is very unlikely to happen and can be resolved by returning to the Single Player menu and back to Multi Player.

Personally I'm excited about Crysis 3 and have been a fan since Crysis released. Love the campaign story lines. Each story has been a fun first person shooter being a super human in a nanosuit.

So I've decided to start this thread as a place to discuss anything about Crysis 3 on a positive note for real fans.

The upcoming lethal composite bow is more than meets the eye fun. Automatic reload, stun / electro arrow, explosive arrow, and a PS energy support system. Versatile for different scenarios.

It's taking New York to a very cool metamorphosis, twisted in with the alien story line we've come to enjoy.

Some new info surfaced regarding first looks into Crysis 3 Multiplayer modes. OP post has the Crysis YouTube video added.

In short it's going to be 16 Player vs Player

Hunter Mode - Begins with 2 players (hunters) in enhanced nano suits that hunt down 14 players cell troopers. Cell troopers upon death respawn as hunters until there is only one cell trooper left to win match.

Crash Site Mode - 8 Player vs 8 Player. Upon entering the map an alien drop ship will deploy a pod at a random location that will indicated by a becon on your HUD where the first team to get 150 points accumlated wins match.

I'm surprised it wasn't at least 12 vs 12 matches. I absolutely love the campaign but I've never been a big fan of Crysis multiplayer, however the Hunter mode looks like fun. Will be looking foward to it.

Updated news - OCT 22 - Crysis 3′s player freedom strikes "a solid middle ground" between Crysis 1 & 2, says producer

Quote:
Where Crysis 1 was a wide open island, Crysis 2 appeared to become constrained within the environment slightly by putting it in a city. "Crysis 1 and 2 were different extremes and each with their own merits and faults. I still believe that some of the 'linear' comments we get regarding Crysis 2 have to do more with the visuals that people were presented with in the game using a closed off space like NYC urban grid. The freedom element was still there to some extent, but presented in a different way."

There is new game play footage in the video on that page. Looking very promising.....

Need more votes! Sadly there was no "Hell no" option, so I settled for "No". I don't want a linear, Crysis/CoD mashup with transformer alien enemies. Crysis was great, and one of the only shooters with a great campaign and great multiplayer. I only tried Crysis 2 briefly and the SP wasn't interesting, but the multiplayer was just horrible. Crysis 3 looks like it is continuing the trend of Crysis 2, though I'll give it some credit; it looks like it will be the first real DX11 game.

Watch the gameplay video, it's not hard to tell it's a corridor shooter even though they make it look wide open.

Crytek and Nvidia team up to give away free Crysis 3 alpha trial keys - October 31, 2012, 11:30 AM EST TechSpot
Quote:
Crytek has teamed up with Nvidia to give some lucky gamers a chance to help test Crysis 3. .......................first come, first serve basis..........................Those interested in participating should head over to Nvidia's GeForce Facebook page. From there, you'll need to "Like" the page (if you haven't already) and fill out a brief questionnaire. After that, we're told you will be given an alpha trial key - granted there are still some left.
Some updated news for those willing to try out the Alpha version of Crysis 3. I got so much going on with other projects I wouldn't have the time. IF there are any to be had. If anyone does get lucky enough to join up Alpha program let us know.

Can't wait to try out the Multiplayer Alpha tomorrow!

I just hope they use a better anti-cheat system than they did in Crysis 2, I really liked Crysis 2's Multiplayer, had tons of fun playing together with other OCN members, but after a few weeks of release the game died due to the amount of hackers in every server.

I was really unimpressed with the multiplayer and barely played the story. The multiplayer was fun at first then it started to feel like COD with cloaking...i quit about 6 weeks after release.

Does anyone know if NDA is going to up for the alpha. I didnt get a key but would like to watch some streamers if there is no NDA.

I cant look right now because government computers dont let you browse game sites lol.

Hope you guys understand that the Alpha is under NDA and should not be discussed. You can talk about the publicity and your hopes, but those of you who have the Alpha, be aware that if you post pics or discuss your experience of the Alpha here your post will get deleted.

One thread has been locked already and another deleted for that reason.
