Your Radeon 7850 overclocking results? - Page 20

This forum is awesome and I've learned so much about overclocking and other fun tidbits! The advice on here has been invaluable, first time PC builder my results:

Updated 4/9/2013
3dmark 11 P score P8045

Heaven Max settings

Using Asus GPU tweak
7850 His IceQ 2gb
Core 1210 (tried 1220 but got some artifacts while gaming so this is best I think for me)
1.225 Volts
Memory 1400

Intel 3570k OC to 4.5Gz

also Tried it with Virtu MVP and score is not valid but got over 10k

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR ADVICE:thumb:thumb.gifthumb.gif:\

Is there an official safe memory OC for these cards. I have a pair of msi 7850s in crossfire and I currently run them at 1165core/1350mem. I could go higher on the memory, but will that degrade the cards long term?

Not necessarily. Your mileage may vary on the memory clock. My card, as well as others seem to hit their max at 1375mhz, after that a noticeable degradation can be seen in 3dmark and other benchmarks because the ECC is kicking in. My suggestion is to try it out and bench it, see if you score lower or higher.

Yep, my cards seemed to like 1375mem as well. Results were almost the same as 1350, which i guess is to be expected. I'll keep them at 1375 though if the current consensus is that that is a safe speed. Thanks for the help. +rep

+1

My 7850s only go up to ~1300 (mabye 1350). Above that I get artifacts and sometimes BSODS.

Been a while since I posted but I've gone up to 1200 core and stayed at 1350 memory. Currently have my 6100 sitting at 3.8GHZ

Hi all! I'm relatively new to this GPU overclocking business, but I just picked up a Sapphire 7850 2GB (OC) this week, and am trying to push some extra performance out of it. I spent an hour or two bumping up in small increments just using Catalyst. I did this until I hit the maximum on both sliders. Here are the results I got (sorry, I don't have screenshots, was just using a text file to track):

Core Mem Pow
1050 1450 +20%

3Dmk Grafx Physx
P5198 7022 3082

I know I'm probably being bottlenecked by my CPU (it's actually running at 3.54GHz with the 4th core unlocked), but I figured I may as well get as much performance out of my GPU in the mean time. All of that done done at the stock voltage, and I have not ventured into anything more adventurous. Nothing I've thrown at it has caused any bluescreens or system instability as far as I can tell. I am a BIT worried about my PSU since I'm overclocking both the CPU and GPU now, but I have the machine plugged into a Kill-A-Watt and I haven't seen it go over ~260W. Temperatures have been in the low to mid-60s with the fan on auto mode.

Any suggestions for what I should try? It seems like it might be worth trying to use a different OC utility, lowering the memory speed, and trying to push the clock further. Thoughts? Thanks guys!

I don't understand something about all of youre overclocks. I cant seem to master overclocking the graphics card but using amd tuner alone im getting a only a 1050GPU clock but am getting a 1450memory clock. and all the overclocks I seen here have memory overclocks far lower then what I got on my 7850 why?

Some hd 7850 cards runs better with lower memory clocks.

Do what i did mate get ASUS GPU Tweak, and set you voltage to 1.2v i can get like 1220 / 1400 (anything above 1400 isn't really needed) experiement mate
Oh and set power to 0% if your gonna play with voltages its not very good for gaming if your using the power slider its not affecting the voltages it just jumps up and down and makes gaming choppy.

Heres my bench http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/5991338?
what version of 3dmark? 11?
