this is some incredible ocing there. but how you manage to did that on 1.2v., i mean 1200 core is not easy to get with litte voltage tweak. i remember on stock my max gone to 1140mhz core for benchmark purpose.

can you put valley benchmark run. how much it is stable.

I'm at 1200/1500 downvolted to 1.150.

well, XT version is meant for better ocing gpu. that is really really good ocing on 7850, XT is really great. 1500memory is impossible to get to. 1400 done many people.

Great ocing there

mine is XFX7850 1GB version ... (ELPIDA) my max stable was 1150/1275 @ 1.185v but i had to go back to 1000/1250 1.150v coz the temps ... thumb.gif
post #479 of 501
Hello guys. I'm new here. This is my 2nd post and this is my results on overclock:

My GPU is a MSI 7850 2GB Power Edition with triple overvoltage. I was managed to do 1300 mhz on the core with max gpu voltage, maybe even more, becouse i don't try more than that couse i think 1.30v is just too much and the temperature jumps almost 20ºC hotter with the fan in auto compared to stock speed of 950 - 1.135v.

Same thing on the Hynix chips. I'm able to run any bench or game at 1500 mhz but with the cost of +50% voltage on the memory and that is beyond 2.0v and i dont want to burn the card. I still need it smile.gif

If i increase only 10 or 20% more voltage on the memory, the result is the same. The max i can go with +20% is 1450 mhz, so i prefer left in stock voltage and keep the clocks at 1445 just becouse the gains in memory overclock ar'nt worth the risk. The real business is the gpu core clock.

So, i decided not to increase more than 1,250v = 1250 mhz / 1.260v = 1260 mhz ir order to reduce the risk and have more stable performance and temperatures below 70ºc and even this is just for benchmark. For more demanding games i use "only" 1225 mhz with 1.210v and the temperature never exceeds 65ºC in Auto. I want to continue with this card some more time.

For last, even at 1260 mhz is still 400 mhz OC comparing to reference clocks and in firestrike in particular, the improvement is in fact 40%.
I get 4300 pts in Firestrike graphics score with 860/1200 mhz (reference 7850) and 6049 with this OC. It's 40,3% boost and in some games i tested, like BF3, BF4, Metro LL, Showdown, etc, i have improvements between 25 and 40% with 1250/1445 mhz and with some research, i find that this improvement represents the same performance level of 7950 which is 2 classes above!!

Not bad for a little card powered with only 1 PEG 6 pin! wink.gif

(sorry if my english isn't perfect, i'm Portuguese)
