run heaven 3.0 or 3D Mark 11. you can monitor the temps using msi afterburner or hwinfo32. hwinfo32 allows you to log temps to a file.

Well, my first card fried, my second one froze up a few times, so before I do anything else I'm going to install a side fan that will be shooting fresh air right at the graphics card... this way if there was an overheating problem, this should help stop it.

I'll check out those progs...

Okay, i have a sapphire hd 7850 dual-x 2gb card but i can seem to unlock voltage for it. I'm stuck at 1050 core & 1450 mem clock. Any help appreciated

you have to use sapphire trixx utility for voltage control

Ive been using Asus GPU tweak lately, but afer going from 12.11 beta4 to 12.11 beta8 it locked on 1050Mhz. The fan control in Trixx is way better too. Would still prefer Afterburner, but can't get it to alter the voltage of my Twin Frozr.

For now Im still at 1100/1350 @ 1,160v (1,155 in beta4 but that wasn't stable in beta8). I think I could get stable at 1150/1350 with more voltage, but I simply can't keep the card cool. Im amazed that people hit 1200 core with 50% fan speed. Even 1100 core requries ~80% for me, and that's so loud that it's not worth the extra fps most of the time. Ive tried to place a fan right next to the card with the side of the case open but still I hit 80 degrees Celsius easily in Kombustor after few minutes.
My card is in a mATX case with sub-par airflow, but still I wonder whether it could be related to part of the heatsink not being mounted properly. Im not really comfortable taking the card apart though.

was able to get a friends sapphire hd 7850 to 1150/1280 @ 1.2v with the 12.11beta drivers.

runs skyrim and PS2 between 40-60 FPS depending on the situation, sitting on a gigabyte z77x-up4th and a stock 3570k. its a nice little card, very impressed. stays really quiet (and cool) under load, much more quiet than my overclocked msi twin frozr III 560ti 448.

for 2gb and 256bit interface and the performance i got out of it was well worth the $200.

My Sapphire HD7850 2 gb is nonOC new revision with two DVI with elpida memory chips.
On stock voltage 1.075-1050/1300 & 1.138v-1100/1300.
Elpida chips sucks.
What is the max safe voltage for GPU core because on 1.18v i can't stabilize 1200 gpu. I'm afraid to try 1.2 or 1.225v.

I use ASUS GPU tweak utility because trixx not decrease voltage in idle.
