So I had one of my 680s die recently, and I have sent it in to MSI for RMA. This will be a log of how it is handled.
Not really sure what caused the card to die, I inspected the entire PCB before sending it in and couldn't find any visible faults. The only warning that I got about the card's demise was my machine refusing to post. I had no instability or artifact issues prior to the card dying. I tried different PCIE slots to no avail, and in the end I decided it was time to RMA. For now I will just use a solo 680 until MSI fixes or replaces the bad one.
As of right now, MSI had received the card Monday morning, 6/11/2012. Today at 1 PM, MST, the status was updated from Approved to In Processing.
