Computer won't wake up from sleep mode when overclocked - Page 2

Are your sure your CPU and memory is stable ? I had been having this type of issue with my overclocked Phenom II until I lowered memory timing. Sometimes BIOS update may solve this issue too.
Try Disabling 'ERP support' in BIOS and test again.

When the computer sleeps, the event log appears to record the following:

Event ID: 10
Source: WMI
Level: Error

Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

Same problem here as well. I just completely shut down since my pc starts so fast, but sleep mode would still be welcome.

I attempted disabling ERP support, but that did not solve the problem. I'm pretty sure my system is stable, though I only ran Prime95 for like 30 minutes. No errors. I've tried my memory timings on the gskill rated 9-9-9-24 and auto, which slows them down a bit. to 11-11-11-30

When you overclock, it is always better to disable C-state and hibernation off. My understanding of it is that you apply a certain voltage to get your desired overclock. When your system goes to sleep/hibernates, the voltage drops. When you wake it up, the CPU gets overclocked, but the voltage does not pick back up as fast causing instablity - hence a crash. So, my comp never goes to sleep - infact never gets shut down unless a patch forces it !

Question. In power settings, do the hard disks sleep after so long? I know I've had this problem before, and although I can't remember exactly how I fixed it, I have that sleep feature disabled and sleep works fine for me

I got a reply from Asus, though it was of no help at all. Basically just told me to tweak BIOS settings but didn't say which ones.

Temporary solution: I've downclocked to 4.2 GHz and system sleeps and wakes up just fine. This is clearly something to do with overclocking, probably to do with C-states as mentioned above.

Does anyone know how to disable C-state changes in the BIOS?
