I'm not familiar with himachi, but about $90/year is not a bad price for a reliable dedicated VPN provider. I have personal experience with StrongVPN, and have gotten nothing but good use out of it while living abroad. The other upside of StrongVPN is that you can get a DD-WRT router bios reflash package (assuming you have a compatible router) that will allow you to run devices other than just a computer over the VPN.
