Any one want to recomend me a newer game?

Thread Starter
I've been out of the loop in gaming over the last few months...really almost a year or so. Anyway, has there been any good games released lately? Or something you liked? I am just curious about what may have ducked under my radar.

I have zero interest in Skyrim or Diablo3. Likely never will.

I was thinking about picking up Max Payne 3, but meh...I don't know. When checking it out I am not getting that "awesome game" feel out of it. I really am open to any type of game, but I have to admit...I am getting a little sick of first person and OTS shooters.

I was also considering the new Sins of a Solar Empire, but it sounds like there might be some balance issues between races at the moment.

Crysis 1 or 2.
Even though the original was made in 2007 the graphics can easily match most modern games.
I got Crysis+Crysis warhead+Crysis War's for 30 US on steam.

Not sure if you're looking for something to play casually or if you're willing to get heavily involved in it, but ARMA II is probably one of the only games I can say I've had fun in (and I'm a tough one to please).

My brother introduced me to his tactical realism unit a few days ago and has been showing me the ropes ever since, and I have to say, it's extremely realistic and neat to say the least.

Stock ARMA II is really fun, especially just playing pubs, but the real fun comes in when you get your hands on a freeware program called Six Updater. Basically, you can install mods like DayZ Mod, but you can also install mods that offer realism to the extreme in ARMA II. For example, in a mod called ACE Mod, the amount of time you can sprint is dependent on how much weight (in kg) you're carrying. If you exceed 40kg, you can actually pass out from sprinting too long and have to be revived by a fellow soldier.

If you have any interest in this or just want to check it out, shoot me a PM and I'll hook you up with my Steam. If not, oh well! thumbsupsmiley.png

I’ll throw a few out there.

Arma II + Dayz is an excellent way to kill time and have a ton of fun doing it!

Dawn Of Discovers + Venice: It’s a slow paced strategy game and a ton of fun! It’s multiplayer as well and even better with friends.

Supreme Commander + Forged Alliance: Think of Command & Conquer on steroids. Maps are absolutely massive and very evenly balanced. It might be old but IMO it’s the best strategy game ever made! Tons of mods for this game as well.

Lord Of The Ring Battle For Middle Earth 2: Awesome strategy game with lots of content and a ton of fun. Throw a troll into a bunch of humans and watch them fly!

Stronghold 3: I don’t have this one yet, but it looks to be good. I have played Stronghold Crusader, Stronghold 2, and Legends. They were all great and this one looks to be pretty good as well.

Fallout Tactics: This is a really old game but for some reason I can’t stop playing it. It’s bloody and requires allot of tactics otherwise you will get overwhelmed and killed in allot of cases. Yep its wicked old but the gameplay more than make up for the dated graphics.

Thoes are just a few of many. Sure some are older than others and not the newest game with amazing graphics but there is something to be said for gameplay. I still play every one of these games, and quite often.
