I know it probably bothers the cash ritch PC gamer less than most... but am i the only person who finds the UK prices for WII totaly offecive?

at E3 developers where tooting on about how WII games cost a fraction (1/3 -> 1/10) of the development cost of Xbox and 360 games (they basicly cost the same as GC games to make)... yet the RRP is the same as top price 360 games (£50).. heck you can get brand new 360 games for £20 off the shelf in a supermarket!.

So basicly WII developers dont have to shell out on surround sound, high def graphics, heavy duty physics (basicly GC games!) and can some how justify a 360/PS3 grade price tag becuase it uses a new controler!?!

OK graphics are not everything but if your paying high-end-gaming wonga you expect high end gaming performance.
Also graphics and physics open up as many avenues of gameplay as a novelty controler.. would Dead Rising be possible(/as good) without the ability to have hundreds of onscreen characters?

Without having a digg at the WII:
The prices are too high and there is nothing, at all, to justify them... and they are just plain insulting in the wake of all the "w00t's" of joy developers expressed over the cheap, cheap development costs on WII.

I did want one, but out of protest at the insulting UK prices I'm going to pass until the console goes the way of GC and gets de-shelved by many/all high street shops (as it did in the UK, at least) and ends up begging from the bargain bins like a doe eyed puppy in a shelter kennel.
