PWM fan help.

Thread Starter
Hey all. Today I purchased some Cougar CF-V12-PHB PWM fans for my CPU cooler. I've got them plugged into the case fan slots on my motherboard, and I'm unsure of how to make these work / scale with CPU temperature. I've never worked with PWM fans before, so all help would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

There are settings in your BIOS, under the 'monitor' tab, you can set it to auto on silent or turbo or something, or you can set your own profile.

I saw that, but I can't make my Case fans run according to my CPU temp. frown.gif

Just read your OP again. You need to plug the fans into the CPU header on the motherboard.

Except I've got two fans that I need scaled to the CPU temp. Surely there's a way to do this without buying a PWM splitter.

So you have one working then? I think the only way is a splitter, Unless you control them with software such as Speedfan.

Speedfan is your best friend here. You can control almost any fan(even GPU fan) given that your mobo allows it.

When you configure it, the "max" value under your Speed tab selects your idling speed then check "auto variate". Then go to the Temperature tab and select a temp you want to start revving up the fans.

Hit ok, and check the "auto fan speed" box and you should be set.

It can be tricky to set up, there are lots of guides around though. Good luck.
