Desktop-bound Trinity APUs are shipping to OEMs, but they won't show up in the channel for months. Nevertheless, we got our hands on three upcoming models. How does Piledriver fare? What about VLIW4 graphics? Does memory play a big role? We answer within!

Looks like a decent improvement over Llano considering it's on the same 32nm process. Also crippled Piledriver VS Bulldozer seems promising.

Piledrivers shaping up to be a reasonable improvement over buldozer but they still have a way to go to get near some of the same price intel offerings

Wait, I thought Trinity desktop was supposed to release in like september, how would Toms get review samples so fast?

they're probably building up more stock right now for September launch. Doesn't mean that they can't sent out a small number of sample chips to OEM's and review sites

Despite the huge clock speed advantage, A10-5800 is barely faster than previous generation A8-3850

Actually, there is few cases were A8-3850 was even faster.

Keep in mind Trinity should overclock a lot higher than llano. So for enthusiasts it'll be a nice upgrade from llano.

I didn't appreciate that until you mentioned it. I wonder why? So clock-for-clock, trinity is slower than llano? That can't be--I thought there was supposed to be a clock-for-clock improvement over llano (but I could be entirely mistaken).
