I was actually surprised as well how well you could run both types in one computer. I had a 460 and a 6970 together at the same time, and I ran FAH and BOINC on both cards without a problem. thumb.gif

You do need drivers for both though, but I didn't run into any conflicts. At one point I even had two monitors connected to the 6970, and on to the 460 and that worked fine too, at least for extended desktop.
