[TPU] AMD Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition "Tahiti XT2" Detailed - Page 13

Hmm, sexparty, The 7970cf doesn't have MS in single screen. I have seen MS on the 6970CF, but its gone with the 7970. Further, most MS reports with the 7970 were with eyefinity resolutions, that has been resolved with the latest drivers - 12.6 has fixed the MS / tearing issue in eyefinity.

You can keep spitting this stuff out, but quite a few users who have used both products can attest to MS being gone on the 7970 series. It was present on the 6000, not on the 7000. Lastly, frame latency is not a proper measure for MS - and even if it were any type of decent measure, you're being selective by cherry picking your results to suit your argument.

But, if you want to be hellbent on spreading this info without actual use of the product have at it. Don't take the word of users that have used both the 6000 and 7000 series - you've already had multiple people (who used both) tell you that it was present on the 6000 and gone on the 7000. Now this is where you link more of your cherry picked "frame latency" results as a rebuttal which is not any type of proper measure of MS. Please do it, i'm expecting it...yawn.

Please. Stop with the old 6xxx serie and old drivers non-sense. 12.6 drivers are a MAJOR release for AMD owners. Big improvement all across the board for Eyefinity with multi-GPUs owners. So those talking about their past experiences with the 6xxx serie, or with pre-12.6 drivers, are not giving accurate info anymore. Totally useless.

Just for fun I took some picture this morning of some games I'm playing on my set-up: 4X7970 Quad-Fire with 3X30'' at 7680X1600. Max settings max AA on everything. Smoooooth like butter with 12.6 beta drivers. No MS, no tearing, just smoooth gaming. smile.gif

You can talk all day long about ''back in the days'' when you had a 6xxx serie card, or with (insert old drivers number here), I had this problem, and this and that, and MS, and blah blah blah... rolleyes.gif

I have the cards, I have the set-up, I'm using the latest 12.6 drivers. Pure smooooooothness. biggrin.gif

Nah Nvidia drivers with the 600 series ahve not been up to Nvidia's usual standards. I wouldn't say they are bad but they are not as good as they were in the 200.00 series. 301.42 in particular has given me issues.

Because Physx is so awesome, right?
