Ok so summer is coming, so i'll be getting a new gaming PC, and another one for my friend.

I wanted to know if everything is alright on my build, everything compatible, and ready to go..

My build :
CPU : Core i5-2500K 3.2 ghz (i am not going to overclock so i'll keep the stock cooler)
GPU : Gigabyte 560 1 gb ddr5
PSU : Thermaltake Litepower 600W ATX12V v2.3 & EPS12V v2.91
Motherboard : ASUS P8H61-M LX
RAM : 2x Patriot 2Go DDR3 1333
Case : Advance 8808GM
Monitor : HP 1440x900

Ok, so i wanted to know if my power supply is good for those specs, and if i will be able to run any new games on my monitor without problems.

My friend's build (tight budget)

CPU : Core i3 530 2.9 ghz
GPU : Asus 6770 1 gb ddr5
PSU : Corsair Builder Series CX500 V2
Motherboard : Some cheap intel 1056 socket
RAM : 2x patriot 2 go DDR3 1333
Case : Advance 8808GM
Monitor : 1024x700

Ok, so my friend's setup is a little bit more complicated, he wanted to use a Phenom X2 550 and unlock it to a X4 with stock cooler, but i don't think it will be better than a core i3 530? so what do you say? and will it bottleneck the 6770 on any game at 1024x700 resolution?

A couple things -
1. In regards to your build, even if you wanted to o/c, you wouldn't be able to with an H61 motherboard
2. I'd find an H67 motherboard at least if you're not planning on overclocking as you'll have SATA 6GB/s ports on it, and you'll be able to run higher spec'd memory.
3. I'd go with a 2500 or even 2400 if you're not planning on running an o/c
4. Get some DDR3 1600MHz memory, its the same price and is generally better memory.
5. That PSU is overkill for your setup, you'll need 450W max

In regards to your friends build
1. 1024 x 700 [i'd guess 1024 x 768 though] is extremely easy on a GPU so no worries no matter which CPU you use
2. The i3 will be fine [and its 1156 socket, though I'd suggest getting a lower end Celeron / Penitum 1155 as they have upgrade ability vs. 1156 which is a dead socket]
3. PSU is still overkill, a 400W will be fine

These are good recommendations.

OP you didn't mention any HDDs or SSDs. Do you already have storage?

1.About the motherboard, i chose it because it is cheap, and i live in morocco, choices here are extremly limited, i can't find any H67, and if i do they will be overpriced
3. There are no 2400 or 2500 here frown.gif, only 2500k, 2600k, 3820, and some old C2D, C2Q.
4. I will try to find cheap ones.
5. ok

about my friend.

1. I guess that's the resolution.
2. What would you say if he changes the i3-530 to a phenom X2 550, and unlock it, because its alot cheaper and its motherboard aswell, will he spot any differences on games?
