Hey guys!
I moved to Minnesota recently, and my PC kinda took a hit during the ride on an 18 wheeler. I now have an additional 2000 dollars from our moving company (I won't say which) to spend on a PC. I'm taking the jump from AMD to Intel.
Form Factor: Must be micro-ATX. In my previous build, my CM 690 II was too big to fit in the desk.
OS: Don't need one, I've got Windows 7
Monitor: Don't need one, I've got one
Keyboard/Mouse: I want a gamer keyboard and mouse, preferably a mechanical keyboard.
Budget: I've got two separate budgets. My family wants an HTPC (micro-ATX also), so I think I can allocate 500-600 dollars of the 2000 for the HTPC.
Miscellaneous Criteria: I'd prefer a smooth color scheme. The outside color scheme can differ from the inside color scheme (e.g. ROG colors inside, blue colors outside). I'd also like to save a bit of money ($50) to spend on Battlefield 3 Premium.
Things I'm putting my eye on:
-Gaming Rig-
Rig Name: "t h e f i r e w i t h i n"
CPU: Intel i7-2700K ($280)
Motherboard: Asus Maximus V Gene ($200)
RAM: Corsair Dominator GT 8GB 1866 ($85)
GPU: Asus GTX 670 DirectCU II ($420)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80 (already have)
CPU Cooler Fans: 2X Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP-15 ($35)
SSD: Plextor M3S 128GB ($130)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB ($100)
PSU: Corsair AX850 (already have)
Case: Silverstone TJ08-E ($100)
Keyboard: Corsair K90 ($100)
Mouse: Logitech G500 ($50)
Build total: ~1500
-HTPC Rig-
Rig Name: "s o l i t u d e a r i s i n g"
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T (already have)
Motherboard: Asus M4A88T-M ($80)
RAM: Corsair XMS3 8GB 1333 ($35)
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 (already have)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212+ ($20)
SSD: Crucial M4 128GB (115)
HDD: Western Digital 1TB (already have)
PSU: Corsair CX500V2 (already have)
Case: Deciding between PS07, Arc Mini, Define Mini ($75-100)
Keyboard: Some wireless keyboard ($?)
Mouse: Some wireless mouse (already have)
Build Total: ~350+
Rig Totals: ~1900+
Note: Money of each component is estimated to nearest number or nearest ten.
Edit: forgot to list the PSU's, thanks succesfulvoid!
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
