£1000 Budget on an Intel Machine. Need help

Hi Guys. So I'll put my requirements below feel free to give me all the advice you can smile.gif.

Its a gaming machine

NOTES:

So i've decided to go for the 24"monitor instead.( Cost Saving ) Below is what im looking to buy and i've provided the links. I'm still looking at a few things. I'm so confused about motherboards, which Z77 do i get?! Also the ram i get like the "timings" the 9-9-9-24 thing. What exactly should i be going for. The PSU i want 650 i think that should be right. But again not sure which one. any case.. just so many need more links and pics! biggrin.gif

I've decided to ditch the SSD and wait till end of year. I'll just stick in one of my drives in his computer for now.

What do you think of the current Set up?.

Monitor: A 27" Monitor is going to eat your budget, expecially if you want something better than 1080p. You should drop it down to 23" and it you can get a much better rig
CPU: i5, i7 is worthless for gaming
Cooler:Depends on how much you are willing to spend on it, Just grab a 212+
RAM:No more than 8GB, 8GB will be PLENTY
GPU: A GTX 670 would normally fit into this budget, but you might have to step down to a 7950
PSU:AFAIK, I think the best PSU for the price in the UK would be a TX650
SSD: Over a 128GB SSD is a waste, A ssd is used for speed, not for storage. If you are not playing a game, it can be moved off of the SSD when you do not need it.
BR Drive:This takes away from the budget as well, but if this is a necessity, just make sure you get one that can write to dvd's too.
KB/Mouse: Depends, what sort of games will they be playing?
Case: NZXT Switch would be a great case, but the cost of your peripherals are going to be a lot. It would be better to step down to a 400R or HAF..

SSD: Yes, SATA 3 will have better speeds, normally they are around the same price.
Sandy VS Ivy: At max overclock, they should be about equal performance, just get whichever is cheaper. The 2500K is normally the cheaper and better chip (in terms of price/performance) to go with.
