Correct. Their products are made in Taiwan. However, the Vizio TVs I've seen are rather nice looking, and this new line of laptops and PCs are very sleek indeed. IPS displays arent THAT expensive to manufacture. Its just these companies are good at marketing to suckers like us who think IPS displays = godlike. Just because something is good doesnt mean its expensive.

Technically at that point it wasn't a TREND. Apple may have "started" the trend, that doesn't mean they were the first to do it. They just helped popularize it.
