23 year old Grant Stanley, the administrator of private torrent tracker Elitetorrents, has been arrested by the FBI. He then pleaded guilty to "conspiracy to commit copyright infringement" and criminal copyright infringement. For his involvement with the website, he has received five months in prison, followed by five months of home detention and a $3,000 fine. Attorney general John Brownlee hopes that "this case sends the message that cyberspace will not provide a shield of anonymity for those who choose to break our copyright laws." This is the first torrent related arrest and conviction in the United States.

Kind of neutral on this situation. Yes, stars lose money when people download their songs, but they still make a ton of money. I guess they can't make due with only a $1,000,000 ring or something.

I would just plead entrapment. It's all out there and there's nothign stopping you from getting it. It's like a mouse trap. And I'm pretty sure that would hold up to some degree.
