I really find it funny when people are just biased with certain comments like, " NVIDIA get owned!" or "Green is better than Red!"
First off, its us the consumers that are getting owned... why?
The 680 is a mid range card and we're paying high end for it. So to even say Nvidia got owned is laughable because they're pushing a mid range card while the 7970 is the high end card from AMD. In the end it is the consumer getting owned..not NVIDIA or AMD
At the same time AMD knee caps its initial 7970 owners by releasing a beta version and now with its GHZ edition is showing what it can do. So we get owned and not AMD or NVIDIA.
In the end just pick a card that you can afford and whatever suits your need and stop getting into flame wars. Lol!

Just my

This argument is entirely ridiculous. Why is the 680 called mid range? Mid range implies there's something above it-- there isn't. The fabled GK100 never came to market, and may have never even seen the light of day. The decision to make GK104 the flagship Geforce card was made
long before Nvidia knew of Tahiti.
As for AMD releasing the Ghz edition, I don't see how they're ripping off their customers. The 28nm process is simply maturing, and they're able to make higher clocked cards now than they were in December of 2011. Intel and AMD release new steppings of CPUs all the time, but no one seems to make an argument against it. Because pushing more mature fab processes just makes sense.
