I also plan on having a stand alone AC unit (or 2) in there (Something like THIS) so I can keep the room around 65F and keep them all nice and cool. I'd just be happy if I could get in the ballpark of what CompMaster is putting up. But, that's a few years down the road. For now I'll just keep building what I can and folding like crazy!

That actually works very well. I do that in the basement of my house now. I have converted over a small closet and put in a TripLite portable AC unit and sat it on a plenum that exhausts to the outside and below that I put a small sump pump to remove the condensation. I just set it on 73 degrees, close the door, and let her run.

It keeps all my PC's, telephone system (I picked up an old Avaya 400 series system for cheap off eBay), Raritan (again, and eBay buy), video server, and some other gear nice and dry/cool.

I went with the SRCOOL12k (which is WAY overkill) but I got it on sale for $535, so I couldn't resist. 12,000 BTU of cooling is way beyond what I needed, but for that price ... why not? biggrin.gif

Yeah, I want to do something like this, but a whole room, probably 15' x 15' (or larger), and make it my office. This way I can have all of my rigs in there and not worry about anything getting hot. Also, I prefer to be cold (I like to keep my house around 67F year round), but my wife doesn't like to be that cold, so if I could have my office to escape to, it would be perfect!

Well, a 15' by 15' room is only 225 square feet, which typically can be cooled by a 6,000 BTU AC unit. A 12,000 BTU unit will do 450-500 square feet., which is still x2 overkill for the room you have ... and in the world of OCN, x2 overkill seems perfect. biggrin.gif

T I would like to do if my future wife (current girlfriend of 2.5 years) will let me do in my man cave is make a comp room and just have all of my rigs throughout time in there all cranking outs wus all day long. Kind of a chronological order of comp parts as well also have 4way sli going in all of them as the cards get cheaper might as well beef them up crazy right? Lol tongue.gif

That is kinda the setup I have now, my basement office has become a haven of new/old computer stuff. I have 6 computers (3 new desktops, an old Gateway desktop, an old Gateway Laptop and a newish laptop w/ no screen). All folding (when the temp is not terrible). All together I can put up about 150k PPD, but I haven't OCed my 3570k rig yet, and I still have a watercooled GTX470 that needs to be installed. Also, I'm picking up a new laptop tonight that has an i5-3210M that should net a few thousand PPD as well (though it won't fold all the time as it is for school).

I've posted pics before, you can look through my gallery in my profile to see my setups.

I just realized this thread was here...

Lets see...

My name is Rob. I'm 30 and soon to be switching over to be an Operations Manager for a Telecom Business Distributor/E-tailer. Previously in sales (/wrists) for Panasonic and other corporations. Happy to get out.

In the past 3 years I've had a father in law, grandfather, and grandmother all pass due to varying forms of cancer as well as an uncle who was recently diagnosed. It's on both sides of my family and I would have to say that most of my family has passed due to it. This is why I'm happy to fold!

I enjoy baseball, football, hockey, hunting, fishing, camping, etc.

Hmm. I gues that's enough info for now! Fold on.

Yep, you are in Division III right now waiting on a spot to open in a team. We have to get your PPD up a bit though. You should be doing 20k+
