Serious Sam 3 also has 4 player split screen, and that's a PC exclusive title. Only reason PC gaming doesn't have split screen gaming is because the majority of PC gamers don't or wouldn't use it. If the demand was there I'm sure the dev's would put it in. Probably also the fact that, as far as I know, you can't plug into 4 KB/M set ups, which is obviously the preferred control system us pc players prefer with certain games.

Yeah that's what I figured, I don't know too many PC gamers that prefer to use a controller over M/KB for games (I do, in certain games). But since controllers are the native method of input for consoles, that's why it's [splitscreen] been a console primary thing for quite some time now.

I break out my Xbox controller for games such as the Batman Arkham games, Assassin's Creed, driving games, 2d side scrollers (when the gamepad support is there), and basically any third person platformer that doesn't involve shooting mechanics (I will always play GTA with kb/m mouse because of the shooting mechanics). I just don't understand how anybody could stand playing a FPS game with a controller. The precision of kb/m is just so fantastic, but if that's what takes their fancy. I just don't understand it wackosmiley.gif.

I think dev's should support split screen for PC gaming more since hooking your pc up to your tv is becoming more and more common. It certainly would only help benefit the platform and the dev's as it might appeal to different people.

I have no problem with using a controller for FPS games (I do have a background in console gaming though), I'd say I'm only a bit better at using a M/KB than I am with a controller. You get used to it after some time.

I do think dev's should support split screen on PC games more though, I mean, why remove it if it's in the game? Just set basic rules for it (e.g. only possible with controllers or a combo of M/KB + controllers for everyone else) and you're set.

Once next gen is released consoles will probably gain much popularity back.

Not that i care much, i dont really think consoles are holding back PC development, but that could be because i almost only play PC exclusive games.

Like I said, I grew up on consoles. I moved to PC pretty much but consoles still have their place in my life for when I'm traveling or need something that's easy to pack up and take with me to a friends house or whatever. Also they're good for when I have relatives over, because I don't like anyone touching my PC. biggrin.gif
The average consumer still thinks that PC gaming is only for stupid flash games. I can't count the number of people I've encountered that knock PC gaming and call consoles superior in every way but haven't even tried PC gaming. Unless PC gaming is advertised more to the public, consoles aren't going anywhere.

What did you expect from a PC overclocking and general site ???

i'm sorry to say this but i think console should be done away with.....its drastically lagging behind in terms of hardware and dont even get my started on those pixelated game graphics that some owners of consoles think is awesome they must be blind sited..... Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo really need to stop making these inferior boxes and tablets performance limited frame cap ugly graphics hardware and make mini pc's which are affordable, unique to their brands and upgraded able thumb.gif just my 2cents:

The guy who wrote this article doesn't seem to know much about PC gaming. The whole vibe is riddled with fanboyism about PC gaming (and other things) rather than facts. I'm an avid PC gamer, but PC gaming can't be pure and simply better than console gaming. Console gaming has the benefit of being a standard upon which titles can be built; developers know what they're dealing with intimately, and consumers need not worry about anything other than picking up the controller and playing. They don't hamper or limit ingenuity; hardware limitations can be said to inspire creativity in gameplay, or can just as easily be said to inspire developers to reuse the same crap over and over again. The fact is; if people will pay for unimaginative junk, they'll get it on PC or consoles.
I can't argue too much for console gaming because, well, I'm not a big fan. But I don't think the benefits of it can be ignored or even overshadowed by PC as easily as the guy who wrote this article believes. The tone of the whole thing was actually slightly embarrassing to me, as a PC gamer. It's fine that some article publisher now sees the benefits of PC gaming, but does that need to go hand in hand with completely dismissing console gaming in classic fanboy action? In his discussion topic below he even goes on to say "Also, don't use AMD cards lol."
He probably went straight from being one of those PS3 vs Xbox > vs PC gaming idiots, to an AMD vs nV > vs console gaming idiot.

"EXPECTED FROM OCN, BUT STILL A DISAPPOINTMENT TO SEE"

Like I said, I expected it, but that doesn't mean it's not disappointing to see. Honestly, for a group of people that often to refer to themselves as mature, I'd like to see some more mature ways of viewing things. We call get it, consoles are weak, they're usually the reason PC games aren't pushing our hardware enough. But that doesn't mean we can't look at it from another point of view and say "well, some people may prefer consoles because... blah blah blah" instead of "ZOMG CONSOLES SUCK!!!!1!!! CRAPPPY HARDWARE AND INFERIOR CONTROLLER LOLOLOL GLORIOUS PC MASTER GAMING RACE!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!11!1!"

Once again, expected--still a disappointment. rolleyes.gif
