Got my Samsung magic memory a couple days ago and I've been playing around with it. This stuff is pretty awesome, though I am curious if there some trick to timings below 7-7-7-19, because it seems to just wall there and not boot anymore no matter how much voltage you give them.

Also; about testing memory timings, memtest enough, or should I prime it again? Currently running Memtest loops on my sig rig, and it's passing at DDR3-1600, with timings of 7-8-7-16, 1T. Subtimings 4-6-4-20-4, stock volts. Love this stuff.

The wall could be IC related.  Certain ICs have certain common trends in abilities; i.e. PSC ICs hate lower tRCDs which is why you see many of those kits running 7-9-7, 6-8-6, 6-9-6, etc.

I just ordered a second 8 GB about a half hour ago.thumb.gif

I was unable to get "stable" at 1600Mhz 7-7-7. 8-8-8 works great. I am currently running @ 1800+Mhz 8-8-8-24 @1.35volts!

^ That's pretty damn good O_O I think the last ICs I know that could do 1800 at 8-8-8 were Elpida Hypers and they couldn't do it at 1.35 at all.

Yes indeed. I just checked what I am actually running at this moment, and it is 1726 Mhz 8-8-8-24, with a NB of 2693 Mhz. I had recently had it running above 1800 8s, but I am able to get a better NB with this different FSB clock setting which yields a the 1726 Mhz memory clock and a 4.09 Ghz CPU clock. Still far and away better than any other RAM in its price range. Better than a LOT of RAM that costs twice as much as a matter of fact. Checked my Egg order, my second 8 GB+ another 120 GB SSD is on the truck heading to Phoenix right now. There is a small possibility that I could have it tomorrow, but probably Wednesday.smile.gif

Mine refuses to even boot at DDR3-2000 (next step up for me at 300 FSB), regardless of timings/voltages. Probably due to the fact that I don't want to go increasing the CPUNB voltage anymore. I happen to like my 1.25v stable. Though, I think I may go mess around with it on the F10 BIOS, for some reason F11 always errors out (locks up) in Prime95, with a known stable configuration- where as F10 keeps going and going. In F11, the errors that I do get (when it doesn't just hardlock) are ALWAYS memory related, that BIOS revision seems to hate memory.

F12 was released recently as well, but since it carries the same features added in F11 (VRM regulation?) I am a little skeptical of trying it.

Not sure about the BIOS issues. When I lock the memory voltage @1.65 v with the Sams, and then set all other memory settings to "auto" they will auto-tune to ~1950 Mhz, depending on where my fsb is. Beyond that 1950 mark, all of my tries have failed, BUT, that is with the mediocre memory controller on my Deneb(Callisto). In theory, they should not operate above ~1600 Mhz with my rig, but the Sams punch on through much higher.

I have 8 GB more on the way from Newegg. Yesterday I peeked at the order and it said "shipped" . This morning I checked the tracking # and it says it shipped from Memphis. I thought that Newegg only had the L.A. warehouse, is there one in Memphis too? I know that FedEx stuff regularly gets routed through their Memphis hub, but this is showing the origin scan being there....

In F11, the errors that I do get (when it doesn't just hardlock) are ALWAYS memory related, that BIOS revision seems to hate memory.
F12 was released recently as well, but since it carries the same features added in F11 (VRM regulation?) I am a little skeptical of trying it.

1.25v is pretty low actually. 1.4v is still pretty safe if temps are in line. You guys running the Sammies on K10's are not going to get much over 1850MHz,the IMC just won't do it.CL timings are also affected by the IMC. With my Hypers,I can run 5-5-5-15 @ 1600MHz on my Athlon (no L3 cache), but only 6-6-6 @1600 on my 960T. My kit is rated to run 2000MHz at 8-8-8, but It won't do that to easily on AMD's.
