Quick thoughts on a reservoir for a small loop - TJ-08E

As the title shares, I have a TJ-08E that I'm thinking of trying water on. Have a nice Phobya 180/200mm radiator picked up in trade a while ago. Now with the new swiftech apogee drive 2 I think there is a block / pump I want to try. That just leaves me with a question about a reservoir.

Here are my possible directions - my 5 1/4's are used btw
1) switech micro res (mounted up by drive bays likely)
2) for about $15 more mount a MCR120 Res Radiator / Reservoir in the rear 120mm
(certainly would add more cooling to the loop, but has fixed 3/8 barbs)
3) just do a t-line with a fill-plug or similar.

Did I miss something? Another idea?
Or, which of the three above would make most sense to you?

Currently cooling a 2500k, might add a GPU in the future, depending.
Thanks for any thoughts. Hoping to order tomorrow (June 17th) to take advantage of a father's day sale.

Bonus Question: the Phobya radiator has a 180mm plate and a 200/220mm plate for mounting fans. I'm going to use the 180mm to match it to the AP 180mm in the front of the TJ-08E. If I wanted to do a push-pull, anyone have a recommendation for a fairly quiet / reasonable cost fan for the 200/220mm plate? Was thinking of even a cheap-ish 200mm CM just to help with airflow. Thanks.

Any reason for that over the additional cooling of another rad?
I do like that the micro res (v2) has a port on the bottom, perhaps for a temp probe.

the 1/2 barbs can be replaced easily by something from frozen CPU, its easier overall, adding a res is not to benefit the cooling efficiency but the overall efficiency of the entire loop. if you have the room almost nobody uses fill ports anymore because something as small as a micro res makes things so much better and easier. and did I say how cool it looks? biggrin.gif

I personally would get a res but If you dont want a res then just get the MCR120, it should do what you want thumb.gif

The version of the MCR120 I was looking at was the one with the built in res - hence it built in barbs.
See it here: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/6570/ex-rad-125/Swiftech_MCR120_Quiet_Power_120mm_Radiator_w_Reservoir_-_MCR120-QP_Res.html?tl=g30c95s708
But point taken.

Micro res is good , CM 200 is a good fan and is very quiet. Thing you have to look at is how many fins per inch your rad has, widely spaced fins (8-12 fpi ) use lower speed fans 600-1400rpm, mid spacing( 14-20fpi ) use 1500-2000rpm fans, anything above that use 1800-3000rpm fans with higher static pressure ratings. CM 200 would be good for up to 14fpi, if you have room use a decoupling shroud for additional flow. thumb.gif
