I believe you can only increase the Video RAM on the graphics integrated into your CPU.
This is done by changing the Frame Buffer in the BIOS.

You cannot change the amount of VRAM on a discrete Graphics Card.

Someone do correct me if I am wrong.

On a side note, Overclock that 5850 thumb.gif

You can't increase the RAM alotted to your graphics card. You can if it was an integrated chip.

Even if you could, increasing the RAM alotted to your graphics card won't help much, the GPU is already limiting of itself since its fairly old. VRAM is only important if you play at high resolutions with high quality textures, and need anti-aliasing and other eye candy. Heck, you could buy a 4 GB 8800GT but it would perform like garbage relative to a 1 GB 560ti because of improvements in GPU architecture and thermal efficiency. If you want to play newer games well, you're going to need a newer graphics card (or read up on how to overclock your 5850). Fortunately you have a good processor for starters!

PS: I also noticed your card is running @ x4 speed according to the info under bus interface.. which slot do you have that card plugged in? Make sure you have it plugged into an x16 rated PCI-E slot for the best performance

Mine just auto assigns the ram to it, although with 3gb dedicated I don't think I have ever actually used the shared...

that is some legacy agp feature of directx from 1999, never used, every gpu has this shared memory but it is never used, unless you have a voodoo banshee 12mb with directx5
