it saves checkpoints to the USB stick if you set checkpoints up, there is not asingle trace of it on your HDD, ever.

every pc im running it on has a healthy copy of windows xp on it with an HDD, not once has it saved anything to the HDD.

ive had it running near half a year now.

NOTE: if you want to do it on multiple PCs and only use one usb stick, simply turn checkpoints off, boot let it start the instance, remove the stick plug it in the next machine and do it again.

you only need like a 256MB usb stick, the files are around 50-75mb in size, and theyll never get bigger

Yea it seems like it makes it a big gamble. I'm sticking with bigadv on my 3930k. That way I know that I will always be achieving at least 100k ppd.

theres a difference between notfreds and yours, notfreds takes 2 minutes to do, you fill out the form and its a basic linux kernel.

not fred's doesn't always work with all hardware, and is years old. I had tried notfred's on some standard pizza-boxes and couldn't get it to work. More effort for a better result!

the only thing ive found notfreds wont run on, is older AMD setups, yours wouldnt work for that either, since none of them supported x64

ive got everything from an 800MHZ compaq deskpro pentium 3 SFF all the way up to a compaq core 2 duo E8400 mini tower on notfreds, its fine on intel, it just doesnt like old AMD chips

I'm not sure whats up with V7 but I just switched both my rigs to it, and I am getting better PPD than I was with the VM..headscratch.gif
