every pc im running it on has a healthy copy of windows xp on it with an HDD, not once has it saved anything to the HDD.
ive had it running near half a year now.
NOTE: if you want to do it on multiple PCs and only use one usb stick, simply turn checkpoints off, boot let it start the instance, remove the stick plug it in the next machine and do it again.
you only need like a 256MB usb stick, the files are around 50-75mb in size, and theyll never get bigger
