GTX 590 vs. GTX 670?

Thread Starter
I can get a GTX 590 for $400. Prices for the GTX 670 are $400.

What do you think?

If it were me, I'd be going for a GTX 590. I know people are going to say the 670 but I would prefer the dual card option. Just my 2cents.gif

If you're running high screen resolution the 590 option will annihilate the 670

If you're looking for just straight up performance, get the GTX 590.

But with the GTX 590, you're looking at almost double the power draw (at peak), plus, it'll run significantly hotter.

If you're playing in 1080p like your sig rig says, I'd get a 670. At that resolution the additional noise, heat, and power from the 590 would hardly have any benefit.

Debating whether to buy an out of warranty, power hungry 590 or stick to a 670 (signature rig is only proposed though I intend to purchase a 1440p monitor). Decisions, decisions.
If you upgrade every generation, then get the 670. If not, get the 590. It'll be more future-proof. A 590 would absolutely kill a 670 in performance.
The 590 is better in performance but as previously mentioned it runs hotter and on more power.

3 - 5 fps difference (in favour of the 590 for games like Metro 2033) from the reviews I've seen. Think I'll go for a 670 with the intention of buying an additional card further down the line (or just wait until the next generation). The noise, power usage and lack of warranty on the 590 worries me slightly. Will just have to keep the settings down on certain games for the time being.

Since the GTX 670 runs less hotter I'd go with that plus it can handle 1080p no problem.
