I would recommend a Radeon HD 7850.

Either the Sapphire or the MSI when it comes back in stock.

I guess if you're looking for a video card under $300 I would go for an EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti Superclocked

Why?
I'd go with a 7850, 2gb vram, overclockes decently, and I think it's faster too.
Or you could consider waiting for the gtx660 to launch and disrupt the market prices again.
Then you should be able to have more of the sub-300 cards.

EDIT: Silly me, I forgot about the EVGA 90 day step up program!
That could come in handy lol

AMD
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7850 2GB 256-bit
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102986

or

Nvidia
MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr II GeForce
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127682

Take your pick i'd go Nvidia should be a faster but less ram a 7850 overclocks well so should be on par with a 570 once oc'd

Yeah, 570's should drop in price somewhat cause of the supposed overstock/backlog thing too...good call.

That corsair psu is more than enough for any current single gpu solution btw. wink.gif

Wait for $300? Get a Radeon 7850 if your budget is $250.

For $300...Radeon 7870

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150605

$299.99 after $20 mail in rebate, free shipping

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131467

$309.99, free shipping

Edit: A slightly overclocked 7870 will outperform the GTX 580 in most benchmarks.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/5691/the-retail-radeon-hd-7870-review-his-7870-iceq-turbo-powercolor-pcs-hd7870/2

Also, the minimum power supply for GTX 580 is 600w while the minimum power supply for Radoen 7870 is 500w.
