Potalion 2710QW Monitor Club - Page 11

Got my 2 monitors today! These things are huge, and I'm loving them. Ordered a longer DVI cable from Monoprice, because with my computer on the side of my Galant desk, I can't quite get them how I want them.

Ordered from BCC and for some reason my order got misplaced and never got shipped on the original shipping date. Ordered last Sunday and got the tracking info on Monday night. Nothing showed up on the DHL website all week, called DHL and the tracking number was valid but they had no info on it and nothing scheduled to be sent to me. So I sent BCC a message and he got back to me Sunday night and was very sorry and offered a $30 refund. I took the offer and they were shipped out right away. I knew the DHL guy would deliver while I was at work, so I left a note on my door to have them delivered to my neighbors. Worked out perfect.

I have a HD5770 graphics card and I can not see any POST screen. They come on with the Windows loading screen.

I downloaded/installed DisplayFusion and this is really great for snapping windows around my desktop.

I wanted these high res screens so I could have multiple windows spread around and still have a corner window dedicated to my Media Center application, but for some reason Media Center keeps crashing on me no matter what I do. I have the latest AMD drivers, and even downloaded the 12.6 Beta drivers, and it still doesn't work. The screen flickers when attempting to watch tv, then just crashes. Seems like a driver issue, but haven't been able to find anything on the web for others with similar issues.

Anyway, loving these monitors. So far so good. I tested different solid color backgrounds, and don't see any pixel issues. These were pixel perfect units that I made offers for $310 each, then with the $30 refund they came down to $290 each.

Monitor looks good in person despite cheap plastics lining inside.

My three 2710QW displays were delivered yesterday and I'm back in town tonight. I'll post info tomorrow. As for right now, I'm tired as all heck--I've been traveling for eight days now.

Hi everyone,

I just ordered a perfect pixel Potalion 2710QW. Now I am looking for a VESA mount for it. I am not sure whether it is 75mm x 75mm, or 100mm x100mm.

Also I am looking at the VideoSecu LCD LED TV Wall Mount Full Motion with Swivel Articulating Arm for 23-37, up to 42 in TV Flat Panel Screen With VESA 200 100, 20 in extension and Post-installation Leveling System A35 from Amazon.com.

Can anyone comment on it?

Thx!

I got a scare last night as I was about to sleep. I heard something popped. I thought it was just the usual fan clicking due to the controller, but thought I haven't heard those lately. So I woke up and checked my computer. G510 seems working; num lock key is functional, so my instinct was to check the monitor. Then bam.

Rainbow Horizontal lines over a black background. Immediately unplugged my monitor and slept through it, and was going to call BCC this morning. Checked over breakfast and the monitor seems to be running fine again. Guessing it was a lose connection of some sort. So I think I'm safe for now, but I think I'm going to find a better power brick immediately.

Anyone have an idea what specs to look for? What do you call that plug with the 4 pins?

Received mine yesterday, all set up now and looking lovely.

A little bit of backlight bleed on 2 spots at the top bezel, but perfectly acceptable for the price.

Sadly, I think I have some stuck/dead pixels on the far right of the screen, almost feathered looking.

I will try to get a picture tonight.

On another note, does anyone know how best to get this to 120cd/m before I calibrate?

Like how many 'down' presses from max brightness?

How long is the cable supplied from BCC? I have the same desk and might need a 10ft. cable.

They are about 4.5'. A 6' probably would have worked, but I ordered a 10' just to be safe. The other monitor I will use the supplied cable, unless I run into signal issues with it, but it seems fine for now.

how long did it take.

How long does BCC take to ship things to U.S. he spoke to me on MOnday telling me he was inspecting my monitor (that I have to wait for 1 to 3 days for testing)

LOL note to future PAYPAL purchase, never use your bank account but trying and find the credit card option. It took a full week to get the cash in his hands
