I think I may end up going with the shimian cause I think it looks a bit better as well. I'll probably drop my $350 on a monitor from a complete stranger from the other side of the globe... my wallet is looking at me in despair.

That's really just it. Go with whichever one looks best to you. For me, that's the crossover (having seen both the shimian and the crossover in person). I'm a fan of metal. biggrin.gif

Just received my third Potalion and WOW this one is good. The backlight is ridiculously even, no dead pixels, no bright pixels. Just pure pixel goodness.

For those interested in timings; I put in a best offer on Monday (EST), offer was accepted Tuesday morning, paid Tuesday morning, shipped out Wednesday morning and arrived here Thursday evening.

Dang, I ordered on Sunday afternoon, and the DHL tracking number which has been in there since yesterday morning still doesn't show up in the tracking system. Was thinking that there might be a note on my door from the DHL guy when I got home today, showing up beating the tracking info, but nothing. Maybe they will surprise me and show up tonight while I am actually here. I know it's going to get attempted delivery when I am not here, and it's going to be a fiasco trying to get to their warehouse to pick it up myself.

Got the new Galant desk assembled and just waiting for these 2 monitors.

Hrm I spoke too soon. Just noticed I have like 30 dead /sub/ pixels on the monitor. Contacting BCC to see what he can do about it. Not sure if sub-pixels are covered by the perfect pixel guarantee. If not I can live with it as they're completely invisible on anything other than straight black, and even on black it's pretty hard to see them.

Luckily they light up like a beacon on high exposure when shooting with my DSLR, so I'm sending this photo to BCC smile.gif

Same here. The tracking number doesn't show anything quite yet. There's no cause for concern though as this is international. Give it a week or so. I order a lot of electronics from overseas for my various projects--stuff like character LCDs, battery holders, etc. It's common for it to take 2-3 weeks, but it does always arrive. So, if we're going to get this stuff in a week or so, it's all gravy. smile.gif

Update from BCC: he's offered me either a partial refund and I get to keep the defective monitor, or an exchange where he pays the shipping. Debating what I should do.

If you don't mind me asking, how much is the partial refund he's offering?
I just put in an offer for $310 on a pixel perfect one and got counter offered with $320. Unsure what to do. It's either this or the PC bank!

Why would you not decide to get a better monitor with less dead pixels if BCC is paying for shipping both ways? Is the partial refund that substantial?

oo didn't know there's a club for this. Got mine last Tuesday and this thing is a beast. BCC gave me a perfect one. no backlight bleed, the lighting is as perfect as my previous monitors.

No dead/stuck pixels either *okay*

What was your ordering timetable like? As in: When did to buy, when did you get tracking, how long did it take to finally appear, etc.
