Long time roamer-first time poster. Great forum and nice club. biggrin.gif Just purchased my Perfect Pixel Potalion 2710QW from BCC on ebay. Here's hoping after waiting 5 years to upgrade my monitor - Gateway FHD2400. Love the gloss look and will post some pics and other info when mine arrives. Looks like the Potalion is the way to go right now (on a semi-budget) as some bad batches of Crossover's and Yamakasi's are being reported lately. Might pull the trigger on two more if everything is up to snuff. Having to buy another EVGA GTX670 FTW will put me over a grand if I want 60 frames tho. Ouch! Arrgghhh!

Difficulty: easy

Remove all screwes along the perimeter

Remove screws on the side holding the panel. [be careful not to damage backlight at bottom]
400
Slide the panel slightly up and you have access to 6 screws holding the mount
400

Well that is a little harder than I expected. But it's not that "THAT" big of a deal, at least you don't have to take the actual panel or board out or anything like that to get the stand off.

Let us know how your experience goes with the MBP meanwhile I wait for mine to ship. thumb.gif

There is barely anything behind that panel. Few wires and tiny board. Think of a laptop LCD assembly. Also lots of empty space inside casing.

It's been few hours with this monitor and I love it. For the price it is great. A huge upgrade from 24" which I couldn't open two browsers side by side. It looks great at night. 30" will give bit bigger pixels but price doubles.

I received my new monitor today.
I'm willing to bet it was a shoddy capacitor that blew. If it happened after the 30 day return period for BCC, it's relatively easy to repair yourself.

1st time poster long time reader.I got my Potalion perfect pixel today. So far so good no bad pixels but a fair bit of backlight bleed.
Overall I am very happy so far.

Just one question does anyone have ICC profiles for the Potalion that they could share?

Cheers Hootz

Calibrated with a Spyder 3, I have my back light as close to 120 cd/m².

This profile is a baseline to tweak your panel further.

EVERY panel is different.

My panel also had a green push so I used HCFR and nvidia color control panel to perfect my colors.

I can also confirm that my Potalion works fine with my MacBook Pro (late 2011) with the Radeon 6770M 1GB graphics chip (Thunderbolt out) using the Apple Mini DisplayPort -> Dual Link DVI adaptor. No fiddling needed. I just plugged it in and the monitor turned on.

Wow... I hate you people finding more Korean monitors. I was gonna get a Crossover 27Q, but I think these look slightly better as a single monitor... Decisions, decisions.... tongue.gif
