for $170 the 2500K is good, but even though i wont use it i would pay $30 more and get the i7. i know for gaming no big difference, but other applications and even the resale value is higher than a 2500K. but buying the 2500K and a hyper 212 Evo/plus would roughly equal the 2600K. when overclocked, the 2500K with a 212 would perform better than a 2600K with a stock cooler (duh)
