Crucial Ballistic Tactical Tracers (not just bling) - Page 3

iam using occt to test ram with large data packets,i have so far got mine to 9.9.9.27.47 2t @ 2133 with 1.65v,iam just testing 9.9.9.24.33 1t
question,is 1t or 2t better please?
i have a crucial ram cooler will this be enough to stop my ram overheating please?,or is it still dangerous?

1T is faster, and you should be fine at 1.65v, even without extra cooling.

I also use OCCT for testing overall stability, but I use memtest for testing ram by itself....either is fine.

I've tried every combination from 1600 to 2400 at all kinds of timings and it's pretty tough to beat my previous post (my baseline).

To answer Steel's previous question, I also have a wall at 2700nb....at least at 1.3v I do (cpu-nb)...running at 2700 doesn't seem any faster than 2500-2600.

This ram will run at 2400 (1.7v), The gains over 2000 seem miniscule though, maybe once I upgrade my cooling and raise my cpu clock that will change. At this setting, my system 'feels' faster than 2000 though:

Try SiSoft Sandra's memory bandwith and latency benchmarks. That scoring just plain looks wrong in Maxxmem. You should be running 20+Mb's per sec with that speed and timing.

Maybe it's Windows 8's fault? Thanks for the advice, I'll do that.

I've noticed that AIDA64 scores a lot higher.

Sandra doesn't seem to work in Win8x64.

This is what AIDA64 shows, back to baseline (2000mhz) for comparison:

560

I know I can get this ram stable at 2400mhz...I got one error in 8 hours of memtest at 2360 (don't you hate that?). I have to regroup and try and figure out all these new (to me) dram settings.

If anyone has timing suggestions (including subs) for me to try at 2400, I'd appreciate it.
