So after upgrading from the X58 platform to an X79 platform, i have a few parts that i need to sell.
6-27 Prices Dropped. Still have all of this stuff looking to sell.
1. 12GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz CAS8, in 2 6GB Triple Channel sets:
Set one is version 3.2, which i bought used here on OCN from Nanoscale
the second set is version 8.18A which i bought new from newegg shortly after buying the kit from nanoscale
$60 for both sets or $35 for each set. Sold!
2. Intel Core I7 920 Processor, D0 stepping.
I bought this processor from nanoscale when i bought the Ram. the batch is 3901A257, which can supposedly hit 4GHz with 1.22v
I was never able to get 4GHz without about 1.32V but i think it had more to do with my board than anything else, because i was able to run it at 3.8GHz on 1.17V (iirc)
Looking for $120 on the processor. Processor Sold!
3. EVGA x58 FTW3 motherboard.
I originally bought this motherboard on ebay for about $60 because it was "broken" the listing said it wouldnt POST but from the pictures it didnt have any apparent physical damage that would have caused this. It turned out that this board must have gotten flexed too far in some way, as it will only POST if it is not flexed at all. I only learned this because i booted it up without my heatsink installed. it booted up fine without the heatsink. when i installed the heatsink then it didnt POST, so i made a bracket out of a coat hanger to hold the heatsink up and keep the board straight. It did have some physical damage when i bought it also. one of the coupling capacitors on the bottom SATA ports was broken off. i have resoldered new ones on and covered them with tape to prevent future damage (theyre close to a mounting point). the catch is that i had to break some of the coupling capacitors off of the marvell 6G ports to solder onto the other. though noone uses the marvell 6G ports on X58 anyways.
As such, i am only going to sell the motherboard to anyone who fully understands what it entails.
Only asking for $45 currently on the motherboard. it will come with the IO plate and SLI Bridges. DOS_equis bought the I/O sheild and SLi Bridges
Or, If anyone wants to take it all, Ill go $220 for the whole bundle. Since the Processor is gone, New deal:
Take the ram and motherboard for $100
Thanks for looking
