Minecraft

Hello, I need some help. I recently built my sig rig, but my parents helped me out and I made a deal to borrow some money. It's gonna be a month or two until I pay them back. Then I want to get a 7850, which is gonna take another two or three months.

I have Gamestop giftcards, and want to buy minecraft. Will my PC play minecraft well enough?
It is cheaper for the Xbox, and all my friends play it there, so I am considering getting
The xbox version.

What are the disadvantages of going with the xbox? I know it has smaller maps, but what else?

No mods yet, and mods are a HUGE part of the Minecraft experience. Tell your friends to stop playing the Xbox version and play it on the PC. Any recent PC can handle it no problem, heck my high school's computers can take it (and they're crappy Dell's)

The PC version is the only real version to get. There's so much more you can do on the PC version that you can't do on the xbox one.

Sounds good thumb.gif

Can your friends not run it on their PCs? If they need to demo it first before buying it only to find out they can't run it, check out PCGamer's site. I believe they have a special demo build available.

All my friends have mics and everything for the Xbox, and won't do anything on their PC. One of my friends used to be a PC gamer before he got Xbox, and he has had Minecraft for PC since the release.

Well hopefully you can change your friends' minds about gaming on PC. Sure if you want to play with them get Minecraft for Xbox. And like xJavontax said mods are a huge part of Minecraft and its replayability. Mods that allow you to build automated-factories/superweapons/extra building options/ really the options are endless.
In the meantime though tell them about how Steam has huge sales every half-year (July and December) and that it's generally the more comfortable platform to game on.
Also the HD7850 is a beast of a GPU. I got a HD 7750 when it came out and now I'm kind of regretting it since it plays everything fine but now that I'm working on a more serious upgrade I'm thinking of bumping everything up a lot (for my AMD desktop build).
