New build E6600

Thread Starter
I can't believe i'm building an intel after how bad I use to talk about them. But here we go. All the parts are already ordered so hopefully I didn't make any mistakes. My goal here is to build a overclock system that is quiet as possible without giving up on overclocking speeds.

Why do I want to overclock? I have no real reason. I just want to.

ORDER CONTENT:
1 x (247085) Asus P5W DH Deluxe 975X P4/Celeron 1066FSB LGA775 DDR2 ATX Motherboard w/Audio, Dual Gigabit LAN, RAID/Serial ATA Retail

1 x (80860) Intel® Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe Processor 2.4GHz, 1066FSB, LGA775, 4MB Cache Retail

1 x (85025-5) Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400 2GB Kit DDR2-800 XMS2-6400 Xtreme Performance Memory Retail

1 x (610757) Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter PC Retail

The rest is from newegg.

Oh and I kind of didn't know the G80 was coming out so soon. So I ended up buying a 7900GTO evga .

As you can see I don't have a case or powersupply on there. I kept debating on what case I should buy. I at first wanted something I could carry around. But then I saw people saying that the Zalman 9500 was to heavy to move. So I'm just going to use my old raidmax case. Also the 600 watt power supply is a little to big for my current rig so I plan to use it for the one I'm building.

I've downloaded some overclocking guides as well as various guides on how to install the heatsink and thermal paste. Everything should arrive by Tuesday. Right now I'm just reading around a lot.

Oh yea, and the rig in my specs. I'm not really going to be using it anymore. Does anyone know around how much it will sell for if I put it into a different case and add a decent psu? I thought it might get more money if I upgrading the cpu before selling it.

I also might sell the 7900GTO when G80 is released. I've been told the step up program might charge me say 700 when everyone else only has theirs for 600.

SO I'm not without my mistakes. But I suppose that is to be expected.

WOW nice build. Btw if you step up to a G80 it should cost you less then what we would have to pay.

Zalman Fatal1ty

It was love at first site. Then I saw the price tag of over 200+. The price on ebay though was only 150. Anyone know where the people on ebay are getting these from?

I could afford to spend around 700 more. I just don't think I want to spend over 200 on a case.

Maybe consider a different cooler. The CNPS9500 is awesome, but the tower coolers have a greater surface area and the larger ones can accomodate a 120mm fan.
