ASUS P8Z77-V LX + 2700k + Corsair 16GB 1600 DDR3 = Wrong Ram speed

Hey everyone,

My RAM speed is wrong in the BIOS. It is running at 1333 where it should be running at 1600. Anytime I go to change the speed of the RAM, my CPU changes and wont step down in speed, it will just run at a constant 3900Mhz. What setting is affecting this? I can't even overclock because it keeps all my clocks at the same rate and wont ever let it step down to a lesser MHz when its not under load/idle.

Thanks

Change the 'CPU bus speed : DRAM speed ratio' setting from 100:100 to 100:133 or vice versa.

Did you ever fix this? I am having a ton of problems with this board in recognizing ram. right now i can get it only to show one stick and it has to be in the third slot. this is the worst board i have ever dealt with. it continuously reboots in order to find the correct ram settings.

I did, I updated the BIOS to the latest version and all memory was detected, but after assigning memory it would always lock the core voltage. Something was faulty.

As a result I ditched the board and the processor for a 3570k and the ASROCK extreme gen 4 after the board fried.

How did you ditch the board? I wish i could return it but I was able to get it working from May to August until it eventually died. I should have known it was a sucky board from the get-go when it took forever to recognize the ram and would just keep rebooting until it found it. This took several hours of me trying new slots and resettings cmos.
