Upgrade from transformer tf101 to tf300?

Thread Starter
I've had the tf101 for a year. Its starting to feel a little laggy for me. Web browsing is not the greatest. Anyways considering the tf300. Prime is not in my price range. I think after selling my current tablet I would be out of pocket around $150. To basically swap cpus.

Is tegra 3 worth it. I don't use the tf101 for HD video much but its petty limited in that category. Want something faster been trying different rom's but I still feel like its not enough.

As much as I don't like apple I've considered the ipad 2 as it just seems to be so smooth. But I'm worried I would quickly get bored with no customization.

I recommend going to a Best Buy and trying it out in person before you buy or try out the Prime since it has the same Tegra 3 Processor. I say do it if you really need the extra speed.

That's probably a good idea thanks. Maybe I will.

Web browsing on the TF300 isn't that great to tell you the truth.

The Chrome beta runs really bad on mine. I have to wait until the page is loaded to scroll around, and a lot of times Chrome would just display a blank page. It gets pretty annoying.

I also installed Opera Mobile, and that runs a lot smoother.

Yah the chrome beta sucks. I thought I loved it at first but I have the same issues. The whole page will load but still when you scroll it can take a couple seconds to load. Last night I was Googling stuff and kept getting blank pages.

I have used opera for a while but I have had it lock up on me recently with like 4-5 tabs open.

Maybe web browsing just sucks on android. I have the same issues with my galaxy nexus.

All that said i just ordered the tf300. The price is right. Hopefully I can get a decent amount for my tf101.

The TF300 just got an update today. It's supposed to improve Chrome performance.

I will report back tonight after I get to use it more.

ICS has an enormous amount of problems with it. Nightly, only using 1 browser, seems to work best for me. But frankly, regardless of the crashing, I've gotten much more productivity and speed then any iPad device. Let alone, not using something that feels "dirty".

If you can save up a little more the transformer Infinity should be out within the next month and according to this guy he was told they were expecting to be around 499$ at launch (crossing my fingers for that price)

Thanks guys picked up the TF300. Liking it so far. Already got it rooted so I could use titanium backup.

Not unlocking the bootloader until I can do it without voiding the warranty.
