OP: What are you using your computer for? If you're gaming you don't need more than 8gb. Unless you're doing some pretty hefty video editing or wanting to do ramdisk, there's no need for 32gb. If you want more because why not, you're better off sticking to 8gb of ram from a good brand and overclocking it - however you won't really see much of a difference.

That being said, there won't be any noticeable difference in speeds between 16GB and 32GB RAM, as long as the amount of MHz remains the same.
And a small note: overclocking RAM on Intel platforms isn't very beneficial. You most likely won't notice a difference unless you overclock it by a lot.

All most people need is 2-4gb of ram. 8gb for most people is double what they need, aka overkill (and on purpose as the only reason to buy 8gb if you don't need it is because it's cheap now).
