Essentially bring bad Unreal!!!!!!! Unreal 2K3 was honestly the best online shooter I have ever played. While the later releases were good, 2K3 was just so much better. All it needed was new graphics and maps.

They're correct about one thing: there are too many crappy FPS games out there right now. Thanks for adding another one to the list.

If you actually make the game and it is actually good I will happily buy your game when their is an actual product to receive. Until then you're sol as far as I'm concerned.
When did it become acceptable for people to ask the general public to fund their project, only to then ask them to buy the product once it's completed?
What really gets me is people act like this Kickstarter stuff is so amazing and they tell you if you have any problems with it (like I do) that you are either a to poor to play games or b not a true PC gamer.

1. Most Kickstarter campaigns will also sell the game normally and you can decide if you want to purchase it then.

2. As others have already pointed out, and to drive it home, reasonable donations (usually in the $15-25 range) are given a copy of the game as part of their donation.

3. Kickstarter so far has mainly been used for games that would not have had a chance to be funded by publisher (due to misguided market conceptions - as already proven by the number of successful campaigns), or the fact that the developers might not want to work with publishers (especially the big ones) because they tend to meddle in the development process.

I really hope this model proves itself out. It gives consumers a way to choose what games they want, and gives the developers nearly full creative control if they wish.

It's pretty much analogous to taking the RIAA or Record companies out of the process. Neither model is perfect, but it should be interesting to see where it goes.

I failed to see how and why a "realistic shooter" is suppose to "restore PC gaming to its former glory”.

How about I pay you now and you give me the game later. Instead of me paying you twice.

Yeah... all shooters work the same. you point the cursor at the enemy and click repeatedly on them. What sets them apart is graphics and how well balanced the multi-player is. Along with how large the community is, and the presence, or lack, of cheating.

I agree to a degree, not just Kickstarter, but games in general using 'Reviving PC gaming!' as a way to draw the PC crowd is just terrible. This game though, doesn't appeal to me whatsoever, looks like any other tactical/war-based FPS. The only game that has caught my attention is Police Warfare, the concept of the game appeals to me.
