Its really the chipset and whatever features you want that makes the motherboard. The one on the DS3 is a 965P which is good for overclocking the e6300 and e6400.
Here is a 2gb kit just plug it into the other post and take out the 1gb of ram.

It should still cost around 800-820 No shipping I believe its 818.92.. It'll be a sold computer. You could get a cheaper motherboard and it will work just fine, but if you overclock it won't overclock as high. With the DS3 people have gotten over 1GHz overclocks. I have my E6400 at 3.2 GHZ and its 2.13 at Stock.
